American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.39% higher at 134.10 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Monday. In continental Europe, gainers were led by medical equipment maker Edap (EDAP), and geophysical equipment manufacturer CGG (CGG), which rose 4.2% and 3.8% respectively. They were followed by Aegon (AEG), a life insurance, pensions and asset management company, and financial services firm Credit Suisse (CS), which climbed 2.4% and 2.1% each.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by Ascendis Pharma (ASND), and cell therapy company TiGenix (TIG), which fell 8.1% and 3% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company DBV Technologies (DBVT), and biotech firm Argenx (ARGX), which lost 2.7% and 2.5% each. In the U.K. and Ireland, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Motif Bio Plc (MTFB), and biopharmaceutical company Amarin (AMRN), which rose 5% and 4% respectively. They were followed by mining companies Rio Tinto (RIO), and BHP Billiton (BBL), which were up 2.8% and 1.7% each.
